Using the NBO with High-Risk Infants: Advanced Skills Course
The aim of this course is to support practitioners in their development of advanced clinical reasoning and implementation of the Newborn Behavioural Observations with high-risk infants and their families.
Incorporating structured teaching and reflective discussion, the course will focus on the development of neurobehavioural regulation in the high-risk infant and the challenges that may disrupt this process for infants who are born preterm or unwell, aspects of administration of the NBO specific to this population, and anticipatory guidance to support the infant and parent AMOR. Practitioner experiences of implementing the NBO in their specific area of practice, clinical case-studies and implementation in specific caseloads/settings will also be discussed.
