Kathryn Hollins

I am a Consultant Child and Family Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist working with infants, children, parents and families in private practice. I focus on improving emotional development and lifelong mental and physical health by strengthening relationships, especially during pregnancy, parenthood and early childhood.

I am a Churchill Fellow, exploring 21st century psycho-social approaches to supporting parents in meeting the emotional needs of their children. I am learning from best practice in Norway and Scotland, with particular reference to the impact of social inequality on health and development.

I am committed to changing how we use social media platforms in order to reduce our high rates of social isolation and loneliness by contributing to the development of the ‘Utter’ App. I also participate in the ‘Parent Hood’ podcasts. Improving the quality of parent-child relationships and encouraging parents to create and belong to a local community are central to both endeavours.
